Giants 2, Blue Jays 1

Tim Lincecum tossed seven innings of one-run ball and Andres Torres belted a two-run homer as host San Francisco edged Toronto.

Lincecum (4-5) allowed a first-inning homer to Edwin Encarnacion before settling in and allowing three hits with six strikeouts over seven frames. Sergio Romo worked around a leadoff single in the ninth for his 16th save for the Giants, who have won three of their last five games.

The Giants pulled ahead in the second when leadoff hitter Hunter Pence reached base on a throwing error by Encarnacion and moved to second on a groundout before Torres hit a two-run blast off Josh Johnson (0-2), who allowed two runs (one earned) while striking out six over seven innings.

Johnson threw 97 pitches with no walks in his first start since landing on the disabled list in late April with right triceps inflammation. The stellar effort wasn’t enough to keep Toronto from losing for the seventh time in its last 11 games.

After posting an 8.27 ERA in losing his previous three starts, Lincecum retired 14 batters in a row after Encarnacion's home run in the first. Gregor Blanco had two hits for the Giants, who have won nine of their last 12 home games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Former Giant Melky Cabrera was greeted with boos by the San Francisco crowd in his first game at AT&T Park since being suspended last August for using a banned substance. Cabrera is expected to be one of some 20 players that Major League Baseball will seek to suspend because of their connection to the Biogenesis clinic in Miami, ESPN's "Outside The Lines" reported Tuesday. Tony Bosch, the founder of the clinic, reportedly has agreed to cooperate with investigators and will swear to an affidavit that he provided drugs to players. As a second-time offender, Cabrera could face a 100-game suspension. … Giants CF Angel Pagan missed his ninth straight game with a right hamstring strain. … The Giants improved to 17-6 when their starting pitcher records a quality outing.
