Reds 6, Diamondbacks 4

Devin Mesoraco belted a grand slam and added a solo homer as visiting Cincinnati evened the four-game series at one win apiece.

Roger Bernardina went 2-for-3 with an RBI while Todd Frazier collected two hits and scored twice for the Reds, who dropped a 4-0 decision in the series opener Thursday. Mike Leake (3-4) allowed four runs - three earned - in six innings as his seven-game winless streak came to an end and Aroldis Chapman struck out two in a perfect ninth for his sixth save.

A.J. Pollock recorded three hits and scored a pair of runs for the Diamondbacks, who went 2-for-12 with runners in scoring position. Former Cincinnati pitcher Bronson Arroyo (4-4) yielded five runs and nine hits over seven frames.

Arizona took an early lead as Pollock led off the first inning with a single and stole second before advancing to third and scoring on a pair of groundouts. Cincinnati wasted little time moving ahead, beginning the second with three singles before Mesoraco launched his seventh homer of the season for a 4-1 advantage.

The Diamondbacks got within a run twice as Gerardo Parra delivered an RBI single and scored on an error in the third before Aaron Hill followed Bernadina's run-scoring double in the top of the sixth with an RBI single in the bottom half. Mesoraco created some breathing room for the Reds in the ninth as he completed his first multi-homer performance of the season with a two-out shot off Evan Marshall.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Pollock has gone 11-for-20 over his last five contests. ... Diamondbacks 3B Martin Prado went 0-for-3, ending his modest five-game hitting streak. ... Leake improved to 3-0 lifetime against Arizona.
