Trevor Plouffe went 4-for-4 with a run scored and Kyle Gibson matched a career high with eight strikeouts over seven strong innings as Minnesota defeated visiting Arizona.

Aaron Hicks recorded an RBI with two hits, Chris Parmelee knocked in a pair of runs and Eduardo Nunez had a double and a single as the Twins evened the series at a game apiece. Gibson (13-11) allowed one run, seven hits and did not walk a batter while throwing 103 pitches.

Ender Inciarte registered four singles to extend his hitting streak to 12 games and knocked in a run in the ninth for the Diamondbacks, who have lost seven of eight. Arizona starter Andrew Chafin (0-1) yielded four runs on seven hits and two walks over three-plus innings in his third major-league start.

Eduardo Escobar singled home the first run in the second and Parmelee plated a pair later in the inning with a two-out base hit to left field. Arizona's Jake Lamb doubled and came home on a single by Chris Owings in the fourth before Minnesota answered in the bottom of the frame on Hicks’ RBI single for a 4-1 lead.

Plouffe lined a single to open the fifth, moved up two bases on Oswaldo Arcia’s base hit and scored on Josmil Pinto’s double-play grounder. Parmelee was hit by a pitch to start the seventh, advanced on Plouffe’s fourth single and later scored on Pinto’s sacrifice fly for a 6-1 advantage.
