Giants 7, Dodgers 2

Pablo Sandoval, Buster Posey and Michael Morse slammed home runs as visiting San Francisco won its fifth straight game at Dodger Stadium.

Giants starter Madison Bumgarner (1-0) struck out 10 in 6 1/3 innings, scattering eight hits while surrendering two runs. Sandoval drove in three runs with his homer, Posey had two hits, including a solo shot that followed Sandoval’s blast, and Angel Pagan and Hunter Pence also contributed two hits apiece for the Giants.

Dodgers starter Paul Maholm (0-1) threw 4 1/3 innings, allowing five runs and seven hits. Nobody collected more than one hit for Los Angeles with Andre Ethier and Juan Uribe driving in the only runs.

The Giants scored a run in the second on a bases-loaded fielder’s choice and another in the fourth on Morse’s leadoff homer to break a 1-1 tie. Sandoval ended Maholm’s day with his three-run blast in the fifth and Posey then greeted reliever Jose Dominguez with a solo shot for a 6-1 lead.

Bumgarner, who came in with more victories (eight) against the Dodgers than any other team, gave up a run-scoring double to Uribe in the second but was otherwise tough in the clutch. He pitched around leadoff base hits in the third, fourth and sixth innings and nearly did so in the seventh but needed help from the bullpen after loading the bases with one out before Santiago Casilla escaped the inning with just one run scored.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Posey’s home run off Dominguez ended a streak of 27 consecutive batters faced without allowing a hit for Dodger relievers. …The Giants have won their last five games at Dodger Stadium by a combined score of 42-14. … Giants SS Brandon Crawford, who hit 5-for-51 (.098) against the Dodgers last season and .266 against the rest of the league, went 0-for-2 with two walks.
