Brewers 10, Twins 4

MILWAUKEE -- A six-run first inning and home runs by Aramis Ramirez and Scooter Gennett led the Milwaukee Brewers to a 10-4 romp of the Minnesota Twins Friday night in an interleague contest at Miller Park.

Right-hander Kyle Lohse (4-9) needed 30 pitches to get through his first inning, but recovered to go six innings while allowing the Twins six hits and a walk while striking out two and allowing a pair of home runs.

The Brewers' offense collected 11 hits off five Twins pitchers, including right-hander Alex May who made his major league debut after being called up from Triple-A Rochester earlier in the day.

Minnesota added a run in the fourth and two more in the sixth on third Trevor Plouffe's two-run homer.

Brian Dozier's leadoff home run in the first inning off Brewers right-hander Kyle Lohse staked right-hander Trevor May to an early lead, but Milwaukee left fielder Gerardo Parra wasted no time getting the run back, leading off the bottom of the inning with his fifth home run of the season.

May allowed the next four runners to get on base, putting Milwaukee up 2-0 before third baseman Aramis Ramirez made the first out of the inning on a liner to third.

But shortstop Jean Segura drove in two more runs with a base hit to right, and after Lohse reached on a fielder's choice, Twins manager Paul Molitor had seen enough and summoned rookie Alex Meyer from the bullpen to close out the inning.

Meyer, though, took his lumps in the second. A leadoff walk to right fielder Ryan Braun came back to haunt him when Gomez singled. Ramirez followed with a home run, and after Segura struck out, second baseman Scooter Gennett made it a 10-1 game with his fourth homer of the season.

The six earned runs allowed by May (4-6) -- who retired just one batter -- were more than the five he allowed in his four previous June starts.

Minnesota added a run in the fourth.
