Big inning lifts Rockies past Phillies
DENVER -- Colorado scored six runs in the sixth inning and Tyler Anderson posted his first major league victory as the Rockies beat the Philadelphia Phillies 8-3 on Saturday night at Coors Field.
Anderson (1-3) helped his cause by hitting a two-run homer that tied the score in the fifth inning at 2. He also had a single for his first big league hit.
The last Rockies pitcher to homer in a game was Kyle Kendrick last September against the San Diego Padres.
Anderson lasted six innings and gave up two runs and no walks while striking out six. Jordan Lyles worked the final three innings and allowed one run to pick up his second career save,
The big hit for the Rockies in their six-run sixth was a three-run triple by Tony Wolters. It was the first triple of the his career.
Phillies starter Jerad Eickhoff gave up all eight runs and eight hits in 5 1/3 innings.
Tommy Joseph went 4-for-4, including a second-inning home run, and Cesar Hernandez had three hits for the Phillies.
