Cris ‘Cyborg’ Won’t Join Bellator, Still Wants Grudge Match with Ronda Rousey

Invicta FC women’s featherweight champion Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino could probably reunite with her old boss, Scott Coker, in Bellator if she wanted to, but she would rather wait to settle an old grudge.

As various media outlets reported last week, Bellator is starting a women’s featherweight (145 pounds) division, initially signing Marloes Coenen – who was outclassed by Justino last July - and Julia Budd to jump star the new weight class.

However, according to MMA Weekly, Justino will forego the opportunity to join the Bellator ranks in favor of completing her original long term goal: dropping down to bantamweight (135 pounds) and challenging UFC women’s champ Ronda Rousey.

Rousey and Justino have continued a back-and-forth war of words for years now, but have yet to settle their differences inside the cage.

Many pundits consider Justino the last real test for the unbeaten Rousey (10-0), though she still awaits matchups with fellow unbeaten UFC prospects Holly Holm, Cat Zigano and even Hollywood star Gina Carano.

Rousey is currently nursing a broken hand after needing just 16 seconds to put away Alexis Davis at UFC 175 last month.

Despite also recently having knee surgery, the “Rowdy” one has already expressed a desire to compete in the UFC’s annual year-end pay-per-view.

The way the calendar falls, the Saturday PPV that typically takes place after Christmas and before New Year’s Day will not occur until January 3, 2015.

That event, UFC 182, will be headlined by a light heavyweight title bout between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier.

Will Rousey and Justino finally settle the score inside the Octagon in 2015 or will this superfight remain a matchup that is just too good to be true?
