Jim Miller vs. Donald Cerrone Headlines UFC Fight Night 45 in Atlantic City

Two of the UFC’s most exciting lightweights, Jim Miller and Donald Cerrone, will clash at UFC Fight Night 45 on July 16 in Atlantic City, the promotion announced late Thursday night.

Miller, a New Jersey native, is currently riding a four-fight unbeaten streak, most recently choking Yancy Medeiros unconscious with a guillotine choke at UFC 172 last week.

Meanwhile, Cerrone has notched three straight victories (all finishes, post-fight bonuses), scoring a masterful rear-naked choke submission over Edson Barboza at UFC on FOX 11 two weeks ago.

Between the two scrappy competitors, the UFC has handed out an incredible 15 post-fight bonuses, including three “Fight of the Night” bonuses each.

According to the UFC’s official rankings, Cerrone is the no. 7 lightweight competitor in the world, while Miller is not far behind him at no. 9.

A decisive win for either fighter could easily put them within arm’s length of a shot at championship gold.

This is likely a make of break fight, as Miller and Cerrone are two perennial contenders at 155 pounds, but neither have broken through into the elite level of the division yet.

The Revel Casino is the specific location to host the event and tickets will go on sale on May 30.
