Assuming UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez doesn’t accept his challenge, undefeated heavyweight boxer Tyson Fury has a back up plan.
Fury has been going on a rampage on Twitter in the past week, first calling out Velasquez, and now former PRIDE star Bob Sapp.
“@BobSappMMA @tom_hkr hey bob let’s dance I remember when you called out mike Tyson trying calling out Tyson fury & c wat happens!!” he tweeted Sunday morning.
Once one of the most feared men in mixed martial arts due to his hulking 329-pound frame, the six-foot-five-inch Sapp hasn’t been a serious competitor in years.
He has currently lost an unheard of 10 fights in a row dating back to March 2011, getting finished each time.
Sapp, a former NFL player on the Chicago Bears and Minnesota Vikings, hasn’t faired much better as a professional kickboxing, losing 11 of his past 12 bouts inside the ring.
Fury is a perfect 20-0 as a professional boxer, so many fight fans are scratching their heads as to why he is calling out MMA fighters all of a sudden.
The Englishman also started some Twitter beef with UFC middleweight contender Michael Bisping on Saturday, implying that a friend of his knocked out Bisping during a sparring session.
While Fury against Velasquez, Bisping or Sapp inside the ring or the Octagon wouldn’t likely be competitive fights, would it be something fans would be willing to pay to see?
