UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has set some lofty expectations for her budding movie career.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the “Rowdy” on explains that she has her sights set on achieving the same level of success as former WWE heavyweight champ/action movie star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
"I never thought that being an action movie star was in the cards for me. My agent kept telling me, 'You're going to be the female Rock.' Then I started to believe it could be a reality. I don't half-ass anything,” Rousey said.
“If I'm going to do something, I'm going to do it to be the best in the world at it. A lot of actresses appear in action movies, but there aren't any female action stars ... So definitely a mix of Milla Jovovich and The Rock is what I'm going for.
Rousey stars in next month’s Expendables 3 alongside the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Mel Gibson , as well as next summer’s Entourage film that picks up where the popular HBO series left off.
The former Olympic bronze medalist in Judo, whose a perfect 10-0 inside the cage, is also working on roles in Fast and Furious 7 and The Athena Project.
Just under two weeks ago, Rousey decimated Cesar Gracie Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Alexis Davis at UFC 175.
It took the UFC titleholder a mere 16 seconds to put her opponent away with strikes, her second consecutive victory via knockout.
Is Rousey destined to be a big movie star or will her fame begin to fade once her best days in the Octagon are behind her?
