The NBA All Star weekend will be a little different this year. Everyone's favorite velociraptor, Chris Bosh will miss the All Star Game and three-point contest with a strained calf. Bosh, who waited as long as possible to see if his calf would heal in time to participate, will be in Toronto but will not play.
It's certainly disappointing that Bosh won't be able to play in the All Star Game in his old stomping grounds, but he is taking the smart, cautious approach by not playing. "It just lingered and I didn't feel it was wise to continue to push it, especially with this elongated week that we have off," Bosh said.
He will be replaced in the three-point contest by C.J. McCollum and was replaced by Al Horford in the All Star Game.
Miami won't play again until February 19, giving Bosh plenty of time to rest his calf, have trainers in Miami work on it and hopefully return for action for the Heat's first game of the second-half. Fantasy owners and Miami fans have nothing to be concerned about.
