For those unfamiliar with FanDuel scoring here is the magic formula to picking a winning team;

Point = 1pt, Rebound = 1.2pts, Assist = 1.5pts, Block = 2pts, Steal = 2pts, Turnover = -1pt

Alright let’s get right into it. To submit a valid roster for competition one must add nine players by using a salary cap of $60,000.

VALUE PLAYS:

Michael Carter-Williams - Point Guard $8,600

Carter-Williams is back from injury and although he is still working himself back into game shape by coming in off the bench, he is still the best fantasy player on Philadelphia’s roster. MCW is certainly the bright spot for the 76ers and he will be given a lot of leeway and flexibility within the offence. Downside to buying MCW this early in his season is that the turnovers are high right now but I expect those to come down once the timing and familiarity comes back.

Rajon Rondo - Point Guard $8,500

Rondo is darn near averaging a triple-double per game thus far this season. Wrap your head around that for a second; 10.1 ppg, 12 apg and 8.1 rpg is a fairly ridiculous stat line and it certainly warrants a buy rating on Rondo. With the Phoenix Suns coming to town and their fast paced style plays perfectly into Rondo’s strengths. This is a great night to buy Rondo and throw him out there at the point.

Victor Oladipo - Shooting Guard $7,300

Victor Oladipo is finally back in the lineup for the Orlando Magic and he now has a couple games under his belt. It didn’t take any time whatsoever for Oladipo to regain the starting role as he is a far superior player to Elfrid Payton. Oladipo’s last game was against the Washington Wizards and he showed no ill effects of the time off as he put up 18 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 steal during the game. This matchup tonight is a favourable one as Oladipo should matchup well against the Detroit Pistons and their backcourt.

Jared Sullinger - Power Forward $6,800

I’m very high on the fantasy potential within the Boston Celtics lineup, in particular the potential located within the frontcourt for the C’s. Jared Sullinger represents solid value for a power forward, he is averaging 15.8 ppg, 10.2 rpg and 3.6 apg over the Celtics last five games yet he is priced far below other players who are averaging similar like numbers. Sullinger is overlooked by many and his value has yet to fully catch up to his production. With the Suns coming to Boston the pace of play will suit Sullinger as a mobile big man who can run the floor and finish in transition.

Kelly Olynyk - Center $5,400

Sticking with the theme of the Boston Celtics tonight I can’t help but be drawn to Olynyk here. The price tag just is not indicative of Olynyk’s production over the last five outings; his 16.6 ppg, 7.4 rpg, 2.0 apg are enough to convince me that this is money well spent. As I’ve stated before the center position is the most important one when it comes to assigning and spending salary dollars. Buying low on Olynyk here will allow you to chase a top-tier power forward for your roster.

BAD BUYS:

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist - Small Forward $4,800

Gilchrist is coming back from a stress reaction in his foot and was held out of the Charlotte Hornets last couple of games. When healthy MKG has been starting for the Hornets and averaging around 20 minutes of action a night. In those limited starter minutes he has been wildly unproductive averaging only 8.4 ppg and 5.0 apg. Now, MKG has been a fairly cheap option at small forward; however, there are still better deals out there.

Tim Duncan  - Power Forward $8,000

This bad buy recommendation really has little to do with Duncan’s playing or even his production. The very nature of this rating stems from the fact that the woefully awful Philadelphia 76ers stumble into the Alamo tonight in a game where everyone figures the Spurs to blow the doors off the young 76er squad. It has been shown time and time again that when a game gets out of hand one way or the other for the Spurs, Duncan sits down and gets his rest in. Sure Duncan will get his nightly double-double here but don’t expect much more as he is unlikely to see any court time in the 4rth quarter due to the Spurs winning by such a large spread.

Joakim Noah - Center $7,900

Noah’s last two games have not been that impressive and the going doesn’t get any easier as the Chicago Bulls travel into Los Angeles to play the Clippers. Historically Noah does not post great numbers against the Clippers as he has been averaging only 10 ppg, 8.5 rpg and 4.5 apg against these Clippers. While these numbers are still good, they aren’t great and they don’t lend much hope that Noah is capable of breaking out here.

Andre Drummond - Center $7,200

I’m not buying high on Drummond until he can regain some confidence and gather some touches on offence. The rebounding numbers are there but the points just aren’t coming. 19 total points over the past 4 games is just atrocious output for such a talented player. Funny how the tides in Detroit have turned as it was Greg Monroe who was rumoured to be on the way out and now the Pistons need Monroe as he is proving to be more valuable than Drummond right now. Tonight’s matchup against the Orlando Magic and their versatile and mobile center in Nikola Vucevic is not a good one for Drummond. Vucevic is a handful for most centers around the league and Drummond is surely going to struggle tonight.

Here is my FanDuel roster for Monday November 17th. I had a pretty good night on Sunday as three entries all finished top-five in 20 person leagues.
