Daily Fantasy Basketball Dime 3.26.14

Today is an exciting day.  With the launching of a fantastic partnership with Fanduel.com we will also be launching awesome daily fantasy basketball content each and every single day.  Today marks the first EVER daily fantasy basketball article here on eDraft and YOU just happen to be lucky enough to be reading it.  Yep, how good do you feel right now?  Years from now you can look back on this memory with fondness in your heart, and a bunch of cash in your pocket.

Once you have joined your salary cap leagues on FanDuel, and received a 100 percent initial deposit bonus by clicking on this linkyou are now staring at a whole bunch of NBA player names, and $60,000 to spend.  That money must be spent on a combination of nine players, with two from every position but center.  At center you only get once choice, you better make it count.  The daily fantasy basketball team here at eDraft will be providing you with three picks at each position to help you lock in your winning lineup on a nightly basis.   Let’s get started!

Point Guard:

Star – John Wall, $8,700: Wall has been a much better player at home this year where is averaging almost four points more per game.  Luckily for you tonight’s game just happens to be in Washington.  Being able to play Wall for under $9,000 is a steal as he has shown his massive upside with four of his last six games totaling 40+ fantasy points.

Stud – Jeff Teague, $7,000: Over the last 10 games the Timberwolves are the sixth worse team in the NBA in terms of defensive efficiency versus the point guard position.  With Teague playing some great basketball he will have little issue abusing the shoddy defense of Ricky Rubio.

Scrub - Avery Bradley, $5,400: Bradley has put together three games in a row now of 20+ fantasy points, and is coming off a 37.3 point monster of a game.  The matchup could be a touch better, but value point guard is a bit tricky today.

TIP: Pay attention to news surrounding Isaiah Thomas as rookie Ray McCallum would make a great sleeper if Thomas does not play.

Shooting Guard:

Star – Tyreke Evans, $7,900: Six games in a row now of 30+ fantasy points and his price still has not quite hit $8,000.  He makes a great play tonight regardless of Eric Gordon’s status, but would see a significant bump in value if Gordon cannot play.

Stud – Gordon Hayward, $6,700: The price of $6,700 is absurd for a player of Hayward’s talents that sees the minutes he does on a nightly basis.  He has finally begun to get his game rolling again and is coming off a game where he scored 32 points.  Despite the reputation of the Grizzlies defense they happen to be in the bottom half of the NBA in defensive efficiency versus opposing team’s shooting guards.

Scrub - Tim Hardaway Jr., $3,700: The Kings happen to be the worst team in the NBA this year against shooting guards, a title I doubt they are proud of.  Hardaway sees 20+ minutes a night for the Knicks, which can mean some solid production in this great matchup for such a low price.

Small Forward:

Star – LeBron James, $10,300: There is simply not another small forward in the class of James tonight.  Big rivalry game versus the Pacers too.

Stud – DeMarre Carroll, $5,900: Carroll is a nice and consistent option at small forward more often then not as it is a tough position to fill plenty of the time.  The three games in a row of 25+ fantasy points and an up-tempo game with the Timberwolves help make this an easy choice.

Scrub - Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, $3,800: Limited inexpensive option at small forward tonight keeps drawing me back to Kidd-Gilchrist.  He is unlikely to do anything fancy but has been putting up near enough fantasy points to pay off his price.

Power Forward:

Star – Anthony Davis, $10,900: The Kevin Love versus Davis debate is a tough one on any night, but tonight has be rolling with the Unibrow.  He is a bit cheaper then Love and has scored 50+ fantasy points in eight of his last nine games.  The one game he missed 50 fantasy points in he put up 46.3!

Stud – David West, $6,400:  West has a personal vendetta versus the Heat causing him to step up his game when these Easter Conference rivals clash.  He is averaging a full six points more a game versus the Heat this year over his average and is also coming off a big 33.8 fantasy point night.  Look for the momentum to continue tonight.

Scrub - Drew Gooden, $3,500: With Nene Hilario out of the rotation for the Wizards Gooden has been seeing some serious minutes.  It seems as though the fine folks at FanDuel have forgotten to raise his price based on his recent levels of production.  Be sure to take advantage of the discount, as his price will not remain here for much longer.

Center:

Star – Andre Drummond, $7,800: We have now gotten three solid games out of Drummond of 30+ fantasy points after a brief one game absence versus the Nuggets.  The Cavaliers do not have a player talented enough to slow him down on defense tonight.

Stud – Marcin Gortat, $7,600: Gooden may have gotten some more minutes with Hilario out but Gortat has been the one to truly reap the benefits.  His production has drastically increased and an undersized Suns frontcourt is not going to change that.

Scrub - Gorgui Dieng, $5,100: Little reason to think Nikola Pekovic will play tonight which will line up Dieng for another start.  The Hawks frontcourt has been giving up big numbers all year with Al Horford out with injury.
