The weekend is here! Time to relax, enjoy a couple days off and play some daily fantasy basketball. It is also time to get ready for the start of daily fantasy baseball, which is literally just around the corner. If you have not made it over to FanDuel.com yet you are clearly missing out so click on the link to the right. Let’s get to some basketball!
Point Guard:
Star – Chris Paul, $9,600: Paul got back to his old ways last game putting up a whopping 53.3 fantasy points. The Rockets point guard defense went from one of the best in the league to one of the worst in the league with the loss of Patrick Beverley for the season.
Stud – Ramon Sessions, $5,800: 42 minutes in each of his last two games leading to 32.1 and 44.7 fantasy points.
Scrub - Patty Mills. $4,300: Mills is a talented offensive player that has proven his upside on multiple occasions this season. The Spurs play an awful Pelicans team tonight and happen to be on a back to back which usually leads to players being rested at this point in the season. Sneak him into a few big tournaments and reap the rewards if Tony Parker is out or plays limited minutes tonight.
Shooting Guard:
Star – Tyreke Evans, $8,200: He has scored 28.3+ fantasy points eight games in a row now with five of those games being 34+ fantasy point nights. Anthony Davis is doubtful tonight and when he left last night’s game early with an injury, and ruined my lineups, Evans clearly became the offensive focal point for the Pelicans leading to 54.5 fantasy points.
Stud – Monta Ellis, $7,400: The Mavericks are currently the ninth seed in Western Conference leaving them fighting for a playoff birth. The Kings shooting guard defense also happens to be the worst in defensive efficiency this season.
Scrub - Giannis Antetokounmpo, $4,100: Bucks players are dropping like flies opening up big minutes for their remaining healthy ones. The Alphabet offers some consistency at a low price at a tough position to find value in tonight. OUT SPRAINED ANKLE: Vince Carter and Bradley Beal are bit more expensive but make some solid plays tonight.
Small Forward:
Star – LeBron James, $10,500: The clear top choice at small forward tonight. James put together an “easy” triple double last night in only 30 minutes of play versus the Pistons. James will easily abuse the Bucks tonight.
Stud – Chandler Parsons, $6,700: Three of Parsons last four games have resulted in 30+ fantasy points and the Clippers small forward defense has been steadily abused all year long. This should be a nice and high scoring affair, which is always good for daily fantasy basketball.
Scrub - Al-Farouq Aminu, $4,400: With Davis out with an injury last night Aminu saw a nice bump in production. Davis is doubtful tonight and I do not expect the Pelicans to rush back the key to their future with nothing left to play for this season.
Power Forward:
Star – Blake Griffin, $10,100: Over the last ten games the Rockets have the joy of being in the bottom ten in the NBA in defensive efficiency versus opposing power forwards.
Stud – Dirk Nowitzki, $7,600: As I mentioned with Ellis the Mavericks currently have a lot to play for as they obviously would like to make the playoffs this season. The Kings also happen to be almost as bad versus power forwards as they are versus shooting guards being the second worst team in the NBA this season in defensive efficiency versus the four.
Scrub - John Henson, $5,100: 20+ fantasy points in eight of his last ten games played and he no longer has to share minutes with Ersan Ilyasova. The Heat suffer against talented rebounders, which sums up Henson nicely.
Center:
Star – DeMarcus Cousins, $7,700: Before last night’s dud in a blowout loss to the Thunder Cousins had put up 40+ fantasy points in eight of his last nine games. Expect a big bounceback performance versus the Mavericks tonight.
Stud – Chris Bosh, $6,500: The Bucks center defense is the worst in defensive efficiency versus opposing centers this season by a very large margin. It is sad a team can be so bad they can make Bosh look good.
Scrub - Henry Sims, $5,400: Three 30+ fantasy point performances in a row and still only a $5,400 dollar price tag. Great matchup tonight versus a large in size but small in defensive ability Detroit Pistons frontcourt.
Good luck tonight. Be sure to follow both @eDraftSports and me @Cui2iousGeoi2ge
