This NBA is quickly creeping towards the playoffs which is causing all sorts of late and last minute injury news to affect your daily fantasy basketball lineup. In order to avoid as much of that as possible a large majority of tonight’s plays are focused on players in must-win games and players that are filling in for known injuries. Point Guard:
Star – Stephen Curry, $8,800: The Golden State Warriors lost a close game with the Nuggets last night in the closing seconds after leading by ten at halftime. This makes their hold on the sixth spot in the Western Conference playoffs even more tentative and they still have yet to clinch their playoff birth in a close race with Phoenix, Dallas, and Memphis for only three remaining spots. Expect Curry to destroy the Lakers tonight and make sure his team locks up the win.
Stud – Mike Conley, $7,000: As mentioned above the Grizzlies need all the wins they can get as they are currently the ninth seed in the West. Conley’s matchup versus the 76ers is just as tasty as Curry’s wonderful matchup with the Lakers.
Scrub – Patty Mills, $4,000: Still no Tony Parker for the Spurs gives Mills another excellent opportunity for another big game. He scored 41.4 fantasy points last night. Cory Joseph should get the start but Mills is clearly the better daily fantasy basketball option.
Shooting Guard:
Star – Eric Bledsoe $7,100: The Suns need a win tonight and they are not going to have an easy time of it versus a stout Spurs team. Goran Dragic is banged up and may even miss tonight’s game putting some more weight on Bledsoe’s back to perform big in another near must win game for the Suns.
Stud – Jodie Meeks, $6,100: Meeks is the only Los Angeles Lakers’ player whose minutes seem to be guaranteed in coach Mike D’Antoni’s wacky rotations. He is coming off a big 44.8 fantasy point night and will see another 36+ minutes on the floor tonight.
Scrub - Anthony Morrow, $4,800: Eric Gordon is done for the year so Morrow will continue to see some big minutes for the Pelicans in his place. He has now scored 23+ fantasy points five games in a row and although the matchup is not the prettiest tonight his price is tough to beat.
Small Forward:
Star – Jeff Adrien, $6,300: In the Bucks last three games Adrien has logged 37+ minutes and scored 37+ fantasy points. On a banged up Bucks team with nothing left to play for this year the minutes will be there once again tonight.
Stud – Wesley Johnson, $4,500: With Pau Gasol and Chris Kaman already out tonight and Kent Bazemore done for the season Johnson is going to continue to play big minutes for the Lakers.
Scrub - James Johnson, $3,800: The Grizzlies have already ruled out Tayshaun Prince tonight which will open up another start for Johnson for only $300 dollars over minimum price. Matchups also do not get much better then playing versus the 76ers.
Power Forward:
Star – Zach Randolph, $7,000: As has already been mentioned several times the Grizzlies NEED this win tonight. Randolph will have little issue dominating the 76ers undersized and banged up frontcourt tonight.
Stud – David West, $6,700: The Pacers starters should be back to work tonight versus the rival Heat after a much deserved game off on Wednesday. West hates the Heat with a burning passion and has a wonderful track record of putting up solid performances versus them, expect another good one tonight.
Scrub - Elton Brand, $4,200: Brand’s value tonight is resting on the status of Pero Antic tonight as Antic is questionable to play. If Antic suits up I would move past Brand to a more expensive player like Jordan Hill, or either of the two listed above. If Antic misses tonight Brand provides some amazing value, as proven by his 38.1 fantasy points last game.
Center:
Star – Enes Kanter, $6,100: Marvin Williams is doubtful tonight, which at this points is pretty darn close to “out”. This means great things for Kanter who will likely get the start and is coming off of a 42.3 fantasy point night on Wednesday.
Stud – Jonas Valanciunas, $5,800: Valanciunas took out his recent DUI arrest on the opposing team last game posting 26 points and 12 rebounds. Granted this was a matchup versus the 76ers, but Valanciunas has posted 31+ fantasy points scored in six of his last eight games.
Scrub – Jeff Withey $3,600: The Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis has been shut down for the remainder of the season which will give Withey some more minutes in a depleted frontcourt. He is only $100 bucks over minimum price and scored 25.9 fantasy points last game.
Good luck tonight. Be sure to follow both @eDraftSports and me @Cui2iousGeoi2ge
