Nicolas Batum, Charlotte Hornets
We already knew that Batum was a stellar all-around player prior to him inking a huge long-term deal with the Hornets this past summer. He's now taken that to a completely different level. The Frenchman is averaging 14.6 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game.
Not terribly surprising, Batum now ranks as the fourth-best fantasy shooting guard. He's also third in fantasy consistency. Talk about being the ultimate DFS play.
Dwyane Wade, Chicago Bulls
We have to be surprised by what the nearly 35-year-old Wade is doing in his first season away from South Beach. We've all been waiting for Wade to hit that wall most players come crashing into at his age. That simply hasn't happened. Wade is averaging 19.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
This has him as Chicago's second-best scoring option behind Jimmy Butler. He also ranks ninth at two-guard in fantasy points and in the top 10 in consistency. Not too shabby for someone the Miami Heat concluded was washed up.
Eric Gordon, Houston Rockets
Gordon has proven to be a perfect fit in Mike D'Antoni's system with the Rockets. It's a high-paced offense that's demanded James Harden handle the rock and distribute more. It's in this that spot-up shooters have more open shots and have found more success in the process.
Gordon is averaging 17.2 points and shooting a career-best 42 percent from distance. He's also played in all 32 of Houston's game after missing a total of 185 games over the past five seasons. That's the biggest key here, and it's made Gordon a fantasy relevant option.
