For the second straight game, knee soreness will cause point guard Goran Dragic to miss action. Miami ruled out Dragic hours in advance of Monday's game against Chris Paul and the Houston Rockets. Guard Tyler Johnson will also miss Monday's game.
It serves as a major blow for Miami's guard depth at a time when they are already without Dion Waiters. The injuries do appear short term in the case of Johnson and Dragic, who are considered day to day right now.
From a DFS perspective, this presents a very nice opportunity to find value plays. Specifically, Wayne Ellington and Josh Richardson become priority targets for value plays. Ellington's price comes in at $4,800 on FanDuel and his ability to reach a ceiling of 30-plus FanDuel points in extended minutes with heavy usage is attractive.
Meanwhile, Richardson is also a target for the same reasons. While he is a little bit more expensive, especially at the small forward position ($6,300), this will be a solid matchup for him and his usage should be through the roof with Miami's top point guards out.
