It goes without saying that his first season as a member of the New York Knicks has not gone according to plan. Averaging just 5.0 points and 8.7 rebounds, Joakim Noah has been an absolutely bust for the team. This comes mere months after he inked a four-year, $72.6 million deal with the team.
Now, after just 46 games, Noah will reportedly miss the remainder of the season and will have to undergo arthroscopic knee surgery.
This comes on the same day that the Knicks have released fellow free-agent signing Brandon Jennings.
It also likely means more playing time for rookie Willy Hernangomez, who is averaging 6.7 points and 6.1 rebounds in just 16.1 minutes of action per game. Look for a dramatic increase in playing time for Hernangomez — an increase that could lead to relevance from a DFS perspective. At the very least, it's most definitely something to keep an eye on over the short term.
New York currently boasts a 24-35 record and would be best served going with youngsters from here on out. That's where Hernangomez and Ron Baker come into mind here.
