Just hours after it appeared the Sacramento Kings made progress on a trade to send point guard George Hill to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a trade later this week, Sacramento found itself down the guard who would replace Hill in the starting lineup. Point guard De'Aaron Fox, the only active guard on Sacramento's roster tonight, exited Tuesday's game against the Orlando Magic with abdominal tightness and the team ruled him out fairly quickly for the rest of the game.
Sacramento's next game comes on Thursday against the Miami Heat and with the team in advanced talks on a trade with Cleveland per ESPN, they could very well hold Hill out of action if he is still even on the team 40 hours from now. So a potential absence from Fox would leave the Kings completely bare at point guard with fellow rookie point guard Frank Mason out of action.
If Fox is unable to suit up for Thursday's game, Sacramento could turn towards Garrett Temple to draw the start at point guard. It would lead to increased minutes for Temple, Buddy Hield and Bogdan Bogdanovic, with all three potentially playing 30-plus minutes.
Given Bogdanovic's ability to stuff the stat sheet and Hield's scoring ability, both would be on the DFS radar come Thursday. When more information becomes available on a potential trade with Hill and Fox's status, we'll update you.
