The Milwaukee Bucks and Charlotte Hornets pulled off a trade on Thursday that includes three centers exchanging teams. The parameters of the deal include Milwaukee sending Miles Plumlee to the Hornets in exchange for Roy Hibbert and Spencer Hawes.
It's not necessarily a blockbuster trade, but any time contributing bigs move, it is a big deal. Now take into account three are exchanging teams, and that's magnified further here.
Plumlee, a fifth-year player from Duke, was averaging just 2.6 points and 1.7 rebounds per game for the Bucks at the time of the trade. He's pretty much a filler here for the Bucks to be able to bring Hibbert and Hawes into the mix. It remains to be seen whether Plumlee wil remain on the Hornets, but he is due $37.5 million over the next three seasons.
From a fantasy perspective, Hibbert and Hawes moving to Milwaukee is more impactful. Hawes is averaging 7.3 points and 4.2 rebounds on the season. Meanwhile, Hubert is averaging 5.2 points and 3.6 points. This could very well be a precursor to the Bucks trading the disappointing Greg Monroe before the deadline later this month.
