The Los Angeles Clippers will reportedly trade All-Star point guard Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets in exchange for Sam Dekker, Lou Williams, Patrick Beverley and a 2018 first-round pick.
It's an absolutely massive move for a Rockets team that's attempting to compete with the three-time defending Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors.
From a fantasy perspective, there's a whole heck of a lot to look at here.
Paul's presence in Houston will lead to James Harden moving back to the two-guard position after manning the point this past season. Harden put up an NBA-best 11.2 assists per game last season. He also averaged a whopping 5.7 turnovers per game.
We can fully expect Harden's assist numbers to go down with Paul manning the point this upcoming season. Though, that could be mitigated to an extent from a fantasy perspective with his turnover numbers also decreasing.
As it relates to Paul, it's going to be a bit different of a dynamic. Here's a guy that had in the past been able to dish the ball inside to Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Short of the Rockets adding a top-end big man to the mix, that won't be the case in Houston.
Instead, Paul will have to rely on Harden, Ryan Anderson and Eric Gordon (should they not be traded) to hit the perimeter shot. Paul has averaged nine plus assists in each of the past 10 seasons. It remains to be seen whether that will be the case in 2017-18.
