The defending champion Golden State Warriors added a key cog to their reserve unit, signing veteran guard Nick Young to a one-year, $5.2 million contract on Wednesday. Golden State was able to use its mid-level exception to bring on the sharpshooter.
He now joins the recently re-signed Shan Livingston, Andre Iguadala and David West to form a tremendous second unit in Golden State.
Young, 32, averaged 13.2 points and shot at a tremendous 40 percent from three-point range for the Los Angeles Lakers last season.
While Young won't have any value in standard fantasy basketball leagues, he could very well be a value option in the DFS world. With Golden State's dominating level of performance over the pat three years, reserves have been able to put up some huge statistical performances in extended minutes.
For his part, Young put up 15-plus points in 29 of his 60 games last season. The usage rate won't be there with the Warriors, but you can pick your spots with him as a value DFS play.
