Much to the dismay of fantasy owners and the Memphis Grizzlies, center Marc Gasol will miss his fourth consecutive game tonight. Memphis ruled him out early this morning for Friday's game against the Dallas Mavericks, an indicator he isn't that close to returning to the court either.
The 32-year-old hasn't played since last Thursday in a 97-90 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. This season, Gasol averages 19.9 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.3 blocks per game in nearly 35 minutes per night.
With Gasol out of action Brandan Wright should see heavy minutes with his move into the starting lineup. In his first start at center this season on Wednesday, Wright dropped 13 points, four rebounds and two blocks in 28 minutes. The absence of Gasol also opens up more minutes for Zach Randolph. This season, Randolph is averaging 15 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists as a starter. Randolph is a fringe DFS play tonight while Wright can be kept away from lineups.
Dallas next plays on Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers, it's unlikely Gasol suits up for that game either.
