It looks like the Sacramento Kings will be without second-leading scorer Rudy Gay for the remainder of the season. Tests indicated that Gay suffered a torn Achilles in the team's game against the Indiana Pacers.
It's potentially a major blow for the Kings' playoff aspirations. It also puts an end to rumors that Gay might be dealt prior to next month's trade deadline.
Gay entered Wednesday's action averaging 18.7 points and 6.4 rebounds while shooting at a 45 percent clip from the field, including a 38 percent mark from distance.
With Gay now likely sidelined for the remainder of the season, expect Garrett Tample to see more action moving forward. He's averaging nearly eight points while shooting 38 percent from three-point range on the season. Veteran Matt Barnes will likely see more actiona as well as the season progresses.
