In a scary piece of news on Saturday, the San Antonio Spurs announced that five-time All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge will be out indefinitely with minor heart arrhythmia.
There's no more information available regarding the team's press release from Saturday morning. But Aldridge's status won't be known until he goes through tests to conclude just how serious the condition is. It could be a long-term issue for the big man.
While we don't like to focus on fantasy sports when it comes to someone's individual health, there's definitely a slant that has to come into play when it comes to the fake basketball world.
Aldridge is averaging 17.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. With him likely out of action for the foreseeable future, the expectation has to be that former All-Star David Lee will see an uptick in minutes. He's averaging 7.4 points and 5.6 rebounds in less than 19 minutes of action per game this season.
San Antonio takes on Lee's former Golden State Warriors team Saturday night in a game that will be missing six All-Star performers.
