The Golden State Warriors are going to be in for a stressful few hours. All-Star forward Kevin Durant, making his return to his hometown of D.C., left Tuesdays' game early in the first quarter against the Washington Wizards with a knee injury.
After being taken to the locker room, the Warriors announced that Durant suffered a hyper-extended left knee and will undergo an MRI. He's obviously out for the remainder of the game.
An average recovery time for this type of injury is 2-3 weeks, though the MRI could reveal something more sinister.
We will surely keep you updated as this story continues to unfold and the results of the MRI come in.
