Chandler Parsons days of being a recruiter for the Dallas Mavericks are over, he was the recruit this offseason and after a visit with the Memphis Grizzlies, he agreed to a four-year, $94 million deal to join the reshaped Grizzlies organization. The deal was first reported by ESPN's Mavericks' reporter Tim MacMahon.
Parsons will average $23.5 million per season for a Grizzlies team that is trying to change things up to be a serious playoff contender again. With a new coach at the helm, they entered the offseason focused on trying to bring back free agent Mike Conley and upgrade at small forward. Given that Conley was involved in the pitch to Parsons, it seems likely Conley will stay in Memphis.
Last season, Parson averaged 13.7 points per game and 4.7 rebounds per game, though his best work came after the All-Star Break when he averaged over 30 minutes per game, shot nearly 52 percent from the field as he averaged 17.6 points per game. He should see 28-32 mintues per game in Memphis and have the opportunity to take plenty of shots.
