The Denver Nuggets got a dose of bad news before the news itself turned out a bit better Wednesday night. Forward Kenneth Faried left the team's 117-106 loss to the Atlanta Hawks with an ankle injury and had to be helped off the court. It looked like a pretty serious injury for a player that's been emerging as of late.
X-rays on Faried's ankle did come up negative, but he was seen leaving the arena on crutches. Further evaluation will surely be needed here to determine the extent of the injury.
Remember, Faried also left a game against San Antonio to injury over the weekend. After missing one outing, this represented his return to the court. Prior to this set of injuries, the veteran had put up six consecutive double-digit performances, including four straight double-doubles.
We will have more information as soon as it becomes available.
