For the second time in less than a week, the San Antonio Spurs are going to sit four of their top players, all in the same game.
Kawhi Leonard (quad contusion), Tony Parker (rest), Tim Duncan (rest) and Manu Ginobili (rest) will all be sitting Monday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Five games behind the Golden State Warriors for the top seed with just nine games left in the regular season, Gregg Popovich and Co. are pretty much conceding the top seed. It makes perfect sense from a team-wide perspective, especially with the large number of aging veterans on the roster.
In terms of Monday's DFS slate, there are a few things to look at here.
Expect Patty Mills to once again start at point guard in lieu of Parker. He recorded 10 points and two rebounds in Parker's stead during the weekend against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The expectation here also has to be that Kyle Anderson will also see extended action with Leonard out. Anderson put up seven points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in 30 minutes against the Thunder over the weekend.
All in all, the assumption here is that the Spurs are a no-go in DFS contests Monday evening. With a pretty solid 10-game slate, it makes little sense to be relying on normal backups to put up big fantasy numbers.
If you had to go with one of these reserves, Boban Marjanovic might be the best option with Duncan out. The first-year player put up 13 points and six boards with Duncan resting against OKC over the weekend.
