Attempting to put out all the rumors surrounding the status of rookie No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons, the Philadelphia 76ers announced on Thursday evening that the forward will undergo a CT scan on his injured foot.
Reports came out on Thursday that Simmons' foot has not completely heeled after undergoing off-season surgery. That came at about the same point that Sixers head coach Brett Brown indicated that he might be able to suit up at some point following the All-Star break.
Simmons remains highly unlikely to play this season, but that CT scan on February 23rd will give us an idea of whether it's even possible for him to take to the court at all during his rookie season.
Until then, continue to look at Robert Covington and Dario Saric as options from the three for Philadelphia. But it sure isn't looking good for the rookie No. 1 overall pick. That much is sure.
