Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds as host New York notched its season-best third consecutive victory.
Jason Smith scored a season-high 19 and Lance Thomas added 16 off the bench on 8-of-10 shooting for the Knicks, who have won nine of their last 11 games against Orlando. Rookie Langston Galloway collected 15 points and eight rebounds and Tim Hardaway Jr. contributed 13 points for New York.
Nikola Vucevic racked up 34 points and 18 rebounds to lead the Magic, who have lost four straight and 10 of 12. Victor Oladipo added 15 points and Channing Frye chipped in 14 while Elfrid Payton tallied nine points and 11 assists.
The Knicks led 82-78 entering the fourth and opened the period with an 8-2 spurt to open a double-digit advantage, but Tobias Harris' three-point play capped a 9-0 run that put Orlando ahead 96-94 with 4:01 remaining. There were three more lead changes before Thomas scored six straight New York points and Galloway drained a 3-pointer for a 108-102 lead with less than a minute to play.
Anthony scored seven straight points late in the second quarter to give New York a 47-43 lead and capped the half with a dunk to take a 51-50 advantage into the break. Orlando opened a four-point lead at three points during the third quarter, but the Knicks closed the period with a 12-4 run including three Hardaway free throws with 29 seconds left and a Shane Larkin bucket at the buzzer.
