Many have said that Verrett has the best coverage skills out of any cornerback in the draft, but his size has scared a ton of teams away. Playing the Big 12, the TCU product knows what it's like to go against the best competition in college football.
While his 40-time might not show it, Verrett is the quickest in this draft. It looks fluid when watching him turn his hips. Verrett may have trouble on the outside in the NFL, but he will be an excellent slot cornerback nonetheless. He could use a couple of added pounds to his frame.

Strengths
Fluidity: I already mentioned earlier how quick Verrett can turn his hips. This may have to do with how small his frame is, but it is worth noting that he is very quick. It just looks easy for Verrett at times to glide on the field no matter what direction he is going.
Ball skills: Verrett has an ability to locate the ball in the air with ease. Because of that, Verrett is able to use a good trail technique against the receiver. He then can find the ball coming down, and make a play on it. Whether it's a pass deflection or an interception, Verrett has the ability to do both.
Experience: A three-year started at TCU, Verrett has plenty of experience from playing at TCU. He has also played in the Mountain West Conference and in the Big 12. Both conferences run many different types of offenses which will really benefit Verrett when teams are watching film on him.
Weaknesses
Size: This one was a given. Verrett is smaller than many people who will be reading this article. Some say size doesn't matter. But in today's NFL, cornerbacks are preferred to be big. There is no doubting his college production, but it is scary how Calvin Johnson has around eight inches on him.
Tackling: While Verrett isn't afraid to come up and make tackles behind the line of scrimmage, it sometimes looks like he has no idea how to tackle. He has to do a better job of wrapping up. This will also be a problem when taking down receivers from behind.
Durability: During his time at TCU, multiple injuries occurred in his senior season. The biggest one was a shoulder injury that affected his ability to reach for passes. Injuries are something that teams will have some concers for in the NFL.
NFL Comparison
Brandon Boykin, Cornerback, Philadelphia Eagles: I am one of those people that rave over Brandon Boykin. Much like Verrett, Boykin has a small frame that hurts his ability against bigger and taller receivers. But, his speed and ball skills make up for his negatives.
Both have a similar build, and both are similar height. I said earlier that Verrett will be a great slot cornerback, but Boykin plays as a cornerback outside. If Boykin could do it, I think Verrett has the ability to have his own side of the field as a cornerback.
Draft Outlook
There is no reason why Verrett couldn't be a late first-round pick. Many teams in the middle of the first round are in need of immediate secondary help. Verrett's ability to play inside and outside will help him tremendously at the next level. Although he may never be a lockdown cornerback, he has the ability to be one of the best players at his position in the game.
Best Fits
I look at a team like the Green Bay Packers as a good fit here. I say this because the Packers may lose Sam Shields. If they are able to re-sign Shields, then I would doubt they draft Verrett. A team like the San Diego Chargers could also be a real good fit here.
Other possible fits include the Arizona Cardinals, San Fransisco 49ers, and the Denver Broncos.
