Quarterbacks
1. Michael Vick, 33 Years Old, Last Team Philadelphia Eagles
Vick is an aging star but he still has a lot to offer. He still has the talent to start for a team for a couple years and he’s become a great mentor for young players.
2. Josh McCown, 34 Years Old, Last Team Chicago Bears
McCown is one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league today. Last year when starter Jay Cutler went down he stept in and went 3-2 in games he started. He’ll be great for a team like Tampa Bay, Houston, or maybe Cleveland, teams looking to develop young quarterbacks.
3. Matt Flynn, 28 Years Old, Last Team Green Bay Packers
I have faith in Flynn despite him not being able to resurrect the Oakland Raiders from the ashes. Best case scenario you get the Matt Flynn from a couple years ago and he comes in and pushes your starter and maybe become the starting quarterback he was supposed to be in Oakland. Worst case you have a solid backup that has played beside the best in the league Aaron Rodgers.
4. Josh Freeman, 26 Years Old, Last Team Minnesota Vikings
Freeman is probably the most talented quarterback in this years Free Agent crop and if he comes in and plays well you have a quarterback who’s still in the prime of his career. But last years off season drama worries me about his future in the NFL.
5. Tarvaris Jackson, 30 Years Old, Last Team Seattle Seahawks
Jackson was a starter at one point in his career and since then has been a solid backup in both Minnesota and Seattle. He’ll be a solid backup for teams looking to bring one in.
Running Backs

1. Knowshon Moreno 26 Years Old, Last Team Denver Broncos
Moreno was one of the most productive running backs last year, he had his first 1000 yard season and 10 rushing touchdowns. He also added 60 catches for 548 yards and three touchdowns which is better than a lot of receivers. Add that he had no lost fumbles last year makes him the top guy this year.
2. Darren McFadden 26 Years Old, Last Team Oakland Raiders
McFadden has the most raw talent in this years free agent pool of running backs, at times he can be a beast. But there are injury concerns when talking about McFadden since he hasn’t played a full 16 games his whole career.
3. Ben Tate 25 Years Old, Last Team Houston Texans
Tate has been one of the most reliable backup running backs in the league for a while. He has looked amazing whenever he filled in for Arian Foster. He’s ready for a starting job so teams like the Jets and Giants will probably be bidding for his services.
4. Maurice Jones-Drew 28 Years Old, Last Team Jacksonville Jaguars
Jones-Drew was once one of the best running backs in the league just a year or two ago. It seems his bruising style of running is beginning to catch up with him. He is still a good player and can be a good mentor for teams with younger players.
5. Rashad Jennings 28 Years Old, Last Team Oakland Raiders
Jennings is a good running back that has been a back up most of his career. Even though he has been a back up for the most part Jennings has the talent to be a primary carrier or split carries with another running back making a dynamic duo.
Wide Receivers

1. Eric Decker 26 Years Old, Last Team Denver Broncos
Decker is a very talented young receiver who has gone over 1,000 yards the last two seasons. He’s a very young productive receiver that has the potential to be a solid number one.
2. Hakeem Nicks 26 Years Old, Last Team New York Giants
Nicks has struggled in the past two seasons with his health and in 2013 he couldn’t even find the end zone. But when he’s healthy he’s another solid young receiver who was once the Giants top guy.
3. Golden Tate 25 Years Old, Last Team Seattle Seahawks
Tate has been in the shadows as a slot/back up receiver in Seattle. This past season however with Percy Harvin went down with an injury, Tate stepped up and was very productive for this team. A team like the Redskins looking to add more targets for Robert Griffin III should consider bringing Tate in since he can play in the slot and on the outside.
4. James Jones 29 Years Old, Last Team Green Bay Packers
Jones van get lost in the crowd with other talented targets in Green Bay. But he himself is a very talented receiver who’s played very well the last two seasons. In 2012 he tallied a career high 14 touchdowns and in 2013 even though he missed two games he was able to tally a career high 817 yards.
5. Julian Edelman 27 Years Old, Last Team New England Patriots
Edelman took over as Wes Welker’s replacement in the slot last year for Tom Brady and the Patriots. That resulted in career highs in catches and yards, 105 catches for 1,056 yards.
Tight Ends
1. Jermichael Finley 26 Years Old, Last Team Green Bay Packers
Finley was considered one of the most dangerous tight ends in the league a year ago. When healthy he’s one of the best big athletic targets in the league, he can also be very productive. The only knock on him is that sometimes he seems to struggle with his hands and drops.
2. Brandon Pettigrew 29 Years Old, Last Team Detroit Lions
Pettigrew is a solid veteran and a very balanced tight end. He’s not like Finley in terms of receiving numbers and production in that sense but he’s still talented enough to start for a team in the NFL.
3. Brandon Myers 28 Year Old, Last Team New York Giants
He had a very productive year in 2012 for the Raiders where he hold in 79 catches for over 800 yards. Last year he wasn’t as productive but he still had an ok year with the struggling Giants. He might not be the most attractive target but he can be a good pickup for a team missing a tight end.
4. Garrett Graham 27 Years Old, Last Team Houston Texans
Graham had a breakout season last year for the Texans with career highs across the board. He’s not a game changer per say but he can be a nice cheap option for teams looking to strengthen the position.
5. Ed Dickson 26 Years Old, Last Team Baltimore Ravens
Dickson was supposed to be the Ravens top guy when he was taken high in the draft back in 2010. But as he’s struggled with drops in the passing game he has been a back up for the majority of his career.
Offensive Tackle
1. Eugene Monroe 26 Years Old, Last Team Baltimore Ravens
Left tackles are one of the most important positions on the field as the protect the backside of the franchise aka the quarterback. Monroe is the best left tackle in in this free agent crop.
2. Jared Veldheer 26 Years Old, Last Team Oakland Raiders
A big guy at left tackle Veldheer is one of the best young tackles in the league. It’s hard to match size with skill but Veldheer definitely brings both to the table.
3. Branden Albert 29 Years Old, Last Team Kansas City Chiefs
Albert is a solid option at the left tackle position. He’s only played 16 games once in his career so that would be my only concern.
4. Rodger Saffold 25 Years Old, Last Team St. Louis Rams
He has some injury concerns but with his size, versatility, and young age makes him one of the most sought after targets in this years free agent crop.
5. Michael Oher 27 Years Old, Last Team Baltimore Ravens
I know that left tackle is really important and a lot of people seem to be down on Oher since he doesn’t do well on the left. But he’s a good right tackle and good run blocker which makes him higher on my list.
Interior Line
1. Geoff Schwartz 27 Years Old, Last Team Kansas City Chiefs
Schwartz is a big guard that played well for the Chiefs last year in his eight starts. Sounds like he wants to stay in Kansas City but we still have to see if they’ll be able to produce what he’s asking for.
2. Evan Dietrich-Smith 27 Years Old, Last Team Green Bay Packers
Dietrich-Smith has been a good consistent player for the Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers has expressed his feelings about wanting him back with the team.
3. Brian De La Puente 28 Years Old, Last Team New Orleans Saints
He has been a good player for the Saints the last couple years, but the fact that they already have so much cash invested in their line I doubt they’ll be able meet his asking price.
4.Ryan Wendell 28 Years Old, Last Team New England Patriots
Wendell is one of the Patriots key players on the offensive line and special teams. He bring consistency and a winning attitude just like any other player from the Patriots.
5. Chad Rinehart 28 Years Old, Last Team San Diego Chargers
Rinehart definitely has issues staying healthy, but truth be told when he is healthy he’s still a pretty good player.
Defensive End
1. Michael Johnson 27 Years Old, Last Team Cincinnati Bengals
Johnson was a very productive defensive end for the Bengals in 2012 when he tallied 11.5 sacks and this year where he batted down 10 passes.
2. Lamarr Houston 26 Years Old, Last Team Oakland Raiders
This past season Houston tallied career high 69 tackles and six total sacks. He’ll bring youth and size to the defensive line.
3. Jared Allan 31 Years Old, Last Team Minnesota Vikings
Allen probably doesn’t have much in the tank, but as a guy that has tallied at least 11 sacks going back all the way to 2007 he’s definitely still a deadly pass rusher.
4. Michael Bennett 28 Years Old, Last Team Seattle Seahawks
Bennett has been a productive part of the best defense in the NFL for the past two seasons. He tallied nine sacks in 2012 and eight and a half this year on the way to the Super Bowl.
5. Justin Tuck 30 Years Old, Last Team New York Giants
Tuck is a solid veteran that can move all over the line and be productive. He got hot in the last six games last year tallying nine and a half of his 11 sacks.
Defensive Tackles
1. Linval Joseph 25 Years Old, Last Team New York Giants
Joseph is still very young and has been a very consistent player for the Giants in the last three years. He’ll probably command the most cash in this years group.
2. Henry Melton 27 Years Old, Last Team Chicago Bears
Melton was out for the majority of 2013 but recorded seven sacks in 2011 and six a year ago in 2012, thats a lot for a tackle.
3. Jason Hatcher 31 Years Old, Last Team Dallas Cowboys
The league is definitely a passing league now and pressuring the passer is so important. Last season Hatcher tallied 11 sack which will no doubt bring him a nice contract this offseason.
4. B.J. Raji 27 Years Old, Last Team Green Bay Packers
Raji is coming off two disappointing seasons where he recorded no sacks at all. He started out his career very well but has hit a slump the last two years. Raji is still a good player and he won’t be that expensive after his struggles.
5. Randy Starks 30 Years Old, Last Team Miami Dolphins
Starks is a very consistent veteran that seems to be ready to move on from his current situation. He can bring consistency to a young defensive line.
Linebackers
1. Brandon Spikes 26 Years Old, Last Team New England Patriots
Spikes is a good inside backer who struggles in coverage at times but is one of the best when it comes to hard hitting and stopping the run.
2. Shaun Phillips 32 Years Old, Last Team Denver Broncos
Phillips filled in nicely last year for the injured Von Miller tallying 10 sacks. He also has the ability to play some defensive end as well.
3. Perry Riley 25 Years Old, Last Team Washington Redskins
Riley didn’t play as well as many hoped he would last year but he still tallied 115 total tackles and three sacks. Add that he’s learned from one of the games greats (London Fletcher) makes Riley one of the most attractive players in free agency.
4. Jo-Lonn Dunbar 28 Years Old, Last Team St. Louis Rams
Dunbar is a big outside linebacker with a lot of talent and potential. A year ago in 2012 he had a great year for the Rams with 114 total tackles and four and a half sacks. Dunbar has had his issues which means you won’t have to break the bank with his contract.
5. Daryl Smith 31 Years Old, Last Team Baltimore Ravens
Smith was one of the backers taking over for Ray Lewis in the middle of the Ravens defense. He tallied 123 total tackles last year along with five sacks and three interceptions.
Cornerbacks
1. Alterraun Verner 25 Years Old, Last Team Tennessee Titans
Verner made it to the pro bowl this year and led the team with five interceptions. In his fourth season out of UCLA Verner has become one of the best overall corners in the league.
2. Vontae Davis 25 Years Old, Last Team Indianapolis Colts
Davis a young corner in his fifth year out of Illinois had an excellent year last year with the Colts. Him and Verner will command top dollar because of their age and recent success.
3. Aqib Talib 28 Years Old, Last Team New england Patriots
Talib had an excellent year last year, we all can recall when he absolutely shut down Jimmy Graham in the game versus the Saints. If Talib didn’t have that nagging hip injury he’d be higher on my list.
4. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie 27 Years Old, Last Team Denver Broncos
Rodgers Cromartie was one of the young guys that did a great job filling in for the injured Champ Bailey this past season. He has size and athleticism making him a player a lot of teams would like to acquire.
5. Sam Shields 26 Years Old, Last Team Green Bay Packers
Shields is a productive young cornerback and this past year he got involved in stopping the run with 51 solo tackles. You got to love a corner that has no problem getting involved in the run.
Safeties
1. Jairus Byrd 27 Years Old, Last Team Buffalo Bills
Many see Byrd as the top player in this years group of free agents and definitely the number one safety. In 11 games this year he was still able to record four interceptions.
2. T.J. Ward 27 Years Old, Last Team Cleveland Browns
Is a close second to the in terms of top safeties in this years class. He had over 100 tackles this year and made it to his first Pro Bowl.
3. Antoine Bethea 29 Years Old, Last Team Indianapolis Colts
Bethea has been a long time starter for the Colts and is coming off a good year with 108 tackles and two interceptions.
4. Donte Whitner 28 Years Old, Last Team San Francisco 49ers
Whitner is another solid veteran that has become one of the most consistent veterans at his position. He can be a great option for a team looking for veteran leadership in the secondary.
5. Louis Delmas 26 Years Old, Last Team Detroit Lions
Delmas is one of the extremely talented athletes that just can’t seem to shake the injury bug. If he can stay healthy he has the tools to be in the class with Ward and Byrd.
