2014 NFL Schedule: Top 10 AFC South Games

The AFC South was a division that was run by the COlts for as long as I can remember.  When Peyton Manning was with the Colts they had an absolute choke hold on the entire division.

It got to the point to where a lot of people prayed for someone else to win the division and when the Texans did a couple years ago everyone made a huge deal of it.  But after last season it seems as though the Indianapolis choke hold is back.  Hopefully the other three team improve in the offseason and make this division a little more competitive.

10. Colts @ Broncos Week 1

The epic Manning vs the Colts rematch comes to the American people early this year and if you're not excited for round two, then I feel for you.  Manning was the face of this team for so long, and with only 16 games in an NFL season it is key to start the season off with a win.  This may not be the most important game in the world but it will be guaranteed fun to watch.

9. Jaguars @ Eagles Week 1

This will be an interesting game because we will get to see if the Jaguars can make some noise this year right away.  Last year they were one of the worst teams in the league and most teams just chalked them up as a W in the schedule all season.  If they can hold their own against the Eagles then they can make the division race a little more interesting.  But I anticipate the Eagles winning by plenty.

8. Eagles @ Texans Week 9

The Texans were the worst team in the league this year as they crashed and burned after a lot of fans and experts a like had them competing with the Colts for the division crown.  But most of their troubles were due to injury and poor quarterback play.  This game can be a turning point in their season.  If they can win this game and go on a run you can see them back at the top of the division.

7. Titans @ Jaguars Week 16

I don’t think either one of these teams has the talent to make the playoffs this year, but late season division matchups always end up being extremely fun to watch.  Take the Texans vs. Jaguars game from last season.  Week before no one talked about the matchup but if you tuned in it was a good competitive game.  The Titans and Jaguars might not be Colts vs. Broncos, but this is the NFL and everyone of these players are talented.

6. Texans @ Titans Week 8

This will be a great series to watch this season.  In my opinion these two will be fighting for second place in the AFC South.  The Texans and Titans both missed out last year but if they can keep up with Colts they second place team will have a good shot at making the playoffs.

5. Patriots @ Colts Week 11

As the season advances the games the Colts play against other top teams in the league become more and more important.  Add in the fact that the Patriots and Colts have a rivalry that started as Manning vs Tom Brady.  Neither one of these teams wants to lose especially to each other.  This is definitely going to be a good game and possible playoff preview seeing as both these teams are expected to make the postseason.

4. Titans @ Texans Week 13

The NFL did a great job in terms of having division games scheduled towards the end of the season.  The second meeting of the Texans and Titans is sure to be entertaining as the two teams fight to make the playoffs.  At the end of the season you’ll start to see key games like this get more intense.  I have the Texans winning the series they have the most talent on their roster especially on their defense.

3. Jaguars @ Texans Week 17

The Texans will be playing to make the playoffs this year, and I see them finishing with a winning record.  But their division rival the Jacksonville Jaguars will give everything they have to spoil the playoff chances for Houston.  This game will be the Jaguars Super Bowl, this might be the last game some of these guys play.  If the team does as bad as they did last year most of the team will be fighting for their jobs!  This will be a fun game to watch, I love the new and improved week 17 matchups.

2. Colts @ Titans Week 17

Same scenario in this final week matchup between the Colts and Titans.  The Titans probably won’t make the postseason this year but they aren’t going to just roll over for the division champion Colts.  The Titans will come into this game with a chip on their shoulder and the Colts will no doubt be in for a war.  I expect a close game to round out the regular season with a bang.

1. Texans @ Colts Week 15

Oh how I wish this was a week 17 matchup, it would make it that much better.  This is the final matchup between the top two teams in the division.  Depending on how well the Texans do this game may decide the division champion for 2014.  Even if it doesn’t come down to who wins the division the Texans want to win this series more than anything.  They’re tired of being the second best in the division, and after getting a taste of what it feels like to have bragging rights in the division.  They’ll stop at nothing to get that feeling back this year by winning the season series.
