The 2014 Reese’s Senior Bowl is over, and what a week it was. Some players solidified themselves as NFL prospects, while others were just breaking the horizon and look to impress NFL teams throughout the draft process. Here are the top 20 players from this year’s Senior Bowl. Keep in mind this is not the twenty best players as far as NFL draft stock and this is not just the game, but the practices as well. These are the top 20 players in terms of the one week in Mobile.
1. Aaron Donald, Pittsburgh
Donald was the best player on the field at all times this week, and hopefully put to rest the “size” argument.
2. Dee Ford, Auburn
Ford was named the MVP of the Senior Bowl, and for good reason. He recorded two sacks and proved that the week of practices were not a fluke. Ford was unstoppable around the edge, and he has cemented himself in the minds of doubters.
3. Jimmie Ward, Northern Illinois
The Mobile native had an incredible week of practices, and he was excellent in one-on-ones, which is huge for a safety.
4. Kevin Norwood, Alabama
Norwood was the most consistent wide receiver of the week, and his ability to make catches no matter where he is on the field showed during Saturday’s game. Norwood will one one of the risers for this week as he starts to be noticed by more and more NFL teams.
5. Chris Borland, Wisconsin
Another year, another undersized linebacker. But Chris Borland is the real deal. He has incredible instincts, and is one of the fastest lateral players on the field. During practice he showed the ability to get to the gaps faster than anyone, but without compromising his angles.
