Name: Randy Gregory
College: Nebraska
Class: Junior
Position: EDGE
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 245
Backround/Character | Leadership: 7.0 | Experience: 7.0 | Off-the-Field: 8 |
| Mental Capacity: 8.0 | Mental Toughness: 8.5 | Durability: 6.5 |
Gregory has not got in any off field trouble, which is always a bright spot. Moving eight times growing up, Gregory likely has good mental toughness and knows how to handle adversity. His route to Nebraska was not the easiest. They aren't major injuries, but you will find him on the injury report often with small injuries. Final Grade: 7.5
Athleticism | Balance: 8.0 | C.O.D.: 7.5 | Explosiveness: 8.5 |
| Flexibility: 8.5 | Coordination: 8.0 | Body Type: 9.0 |
Gregory is a freak athlete at 6'6. Whether it is effort or whatever the case maybe, he doesn't always get a good jump, but when he does it is one of the best in the nation. He is only scratching the the surface of what he can become, get him with a good defensive coach at the next level that can continue to develop him, watch out. Final Grade: 8.25
Overall | Football I.Q.: 8.0 | Motor: 8.5 | Aggresiveness: 8 |
| Initial Quickness: 8.5 | Tackling: 7 | Stamina: 7.5 |
When you are more than likely the best all around athlete on any field you play on, you should be able to do most things that require being athletic well, and Gregory does just that. If you get him on the ground you better lay on him because he will get right up and run down the ball carrier. As you see in the GIF below, he gets chop blocked to the ground, gets up, and almost bats the ball down. Final Grade: 7.92
Run Defense | Read/React: 6.5 | Postioning: 7.5 | Range: 8 |
| Pursuit: 8.5 | Gap Control: 6.5 | Block Shedding:7.5 |
It is obvious Gregory is still raw at football, and you can see it when watching him versus the run. He has very good leverage, which is key in this part of playing the run. However, he doesn't necessarily get off of blocks well or push opposing lineman back. Final Grade: 7.42
Pass Defense | Vision: 7.0 | Rip/Swim Rush: 7.5 | Bull Rush: 8 |
| Counter Rush: 7.5 | Edge Quickness: 8.5 | Vs Double Teams: 5.5 |
As mentioned before, Gregory is still raw, mainly with his technique. Given the vast improvement in his game since the 2013 season, he can still improve in that area. If you want to see how improved he has come, his game versus Miami this year is the epitome of it. Since he is such a problem for some teams, they decide to put two or even three blockers on him. He has trouble getting off of double teams, though it does give his teammates more one-on-one opportunities. Final Grade: 7.3

Final Analysis
The biggest reason I like Gregory so much is his potential. Yes, you can't bank on anyone being as good as they can be. But the progression he has made from this year to this year is immense. Get this man with a good coach and he will lead the league in sacks more than once. In a class full of good pass rushers, Gregory is the best one I have seen thus far and that wont likely change.
