1.Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Marcus Mariota, Quarterback, Oregon
Mariota gives Tampa their long awaited franchise quarterback. He can give you that extra play if needed. With 2014 1st Round pick Mike Evans there and a aging Vincent Jackson, Mariota will already have weapons in place for him to succeed.
2.Jacksonville Jaguars: Dante Fowler, EDGE, Florida
The lengthy, explosive athlete would likely be the Jaguars best EDGE player from day one. Still a little raw on the pass rush side, he is phenomenal versus the run. He has lost a good amount of bad weight and now has better hand technique and bending ability.
3.Oakland Raiders: Andrus Peat, Offensive Tackle, Stanford
With their future at quarterback already starting from day one in Derek Carr, the Raiders need to grab the cornerstone left tackle to protect his blindside. Peat has strong hands, quick feet, and punch that will likely stone you nine times out of ten.
4.Minnesota Vikings: Brandon Scherff, Offensive Tackle, Iowa
Scherff, like Peat, is very good at pretty much mauling someone until the whistle. A monster in the weight room, Scherff is very strong which correlates to his powerful punch. Matt Kalil has been playing horrid this season so if the Vikings don't believe that he is the answer going forward, Teddy Bridgewater can have a new left tackle in his hands.
5.Miami Dolphins: Leonard Williams, Defensive Line, USC
Williams is a quick, smart, strong player. With Cameron Wake starting to play on his last legs and Dion Jordan not living up to the hype and getting suspended, the Dolphins don't really have “that” guy to pressure the QB. Williams would give them immediate help there.
6.Tennessee Titans: Jameis Winston, Quarterback, Florida State
Winston has his obvious off-field concerns, but when in need, stuff like that gets swept under the rug. The Titans have an injury prone player as their QB and it is not getting them anywhere. Winston may not make smart decisions off the field but on he is a surgeon. He still has some mechanical issues to work on but they seem correctable.
7.Washington Redskins: Landon Collins, Safety, Alabama
The Redskins are a mess in the secondary. They do not have one guy that can cover a legitimate receiver on a consistent basis, DeAngelo Hall is not good, Amerson is not good, and both of their softies are not good. Collins has exceptional range and ball skills that will help him in the open field. He also prospers in the box versus the run showing his explosiveness.
8. Kansas City Chiefs: Amari Cooper, Wide Receiver, Alabama
The Chiefs are not a deep throwing team for obvious reasons. They are a dink-n-dunk team that lets players create for themselves and they do not have one guy besides their tight end who can do it consistently. Cooper, who some think can't be good on deep balls due to his lack of high pointing, is a match made in heaven for Alex Smith. Cooper is putting up record numbers this season at Alabama. Mostly due to the fact that Lane Kiffin is feeding him the ball on screenplays therefor he can make plays by himself.
9.New York Jets: Marcus Peters, Cornerback, Washington
Peters is a physical corner with good hips and length to disrupt players of the snap. The Jets have been struggling at corner this year due to Dee Milliner not stepping up and injuries. Peters would likely be their best DB from day one and Rex Ryan would have a field day with him.
10.New Orleans Saints: Denzel Perryman, Linebacker, Miami
New Orleans lacks a true off-ball linebacker and that might be what is holding them back. Perryman is fantastic against the run, shows his instincts and block shedding while doing it. He still needs some work in coverage but the kid has talent that deserves to be in a scheme like New Orleans'.
11.Indianapolis Colts: Vic Beasley, EDGE, Clemson
The Colts do not have a guy that can get constant pressure on the quarterback. Yes, they drafted Bjorn Werner in the 1st round not to long ago and they have Robert Mathis But Mathis in at the end of his career and will be coming off a major injury and Werner is more of a run stopper. Beasley is not a good run stopper but he won't be drafted to do so.
12.Cleveland Browns: Devin Funchess, Wide Receiver, Michigan
Funchess is a dynamic athlete, there is no there way around it. At 6’5” Funchess is a mismatch nightmare given he also has good speed to go with it. Another thing that makes him a guy that will be valued by scouts in his catching radius. If you throw the ball up to his big frame there is a good chance he will come down with it.
13.St. Louis Rams: Benardrick McKinney, Linebacker, Mississippi State
McKinney is an athletic freak, given he doesn’t have great instincts, he plays well on plays that should be made and does it constantly. Better against the run than the pass McKinney needs work on some things but is a all around good technical player.
14.Green Bay Packers: Mario Edwards, Defensive Line, Florida State
Green Bay doesn’t have a great IDL player besides Mike Daniels who needs some help. Edwards is very athletic for his size and has very good strength once just mauling the number two pick in the 2014 NFL Draft Greg Robinson. He needs to shore up his hand usage and if he does, he could be a absolute stud.
15.San Francisco 49ers: Carl Davis, Defensive Line, Iowa
Sooner rather than later the Niners will need a replacement for Justin Smith, they are known for picking talented players and sitting them for a year until they are needed and they should do just that with Davis. He is has very good power to disrupt both the both pass and the run game.
16.New York Giants: Arie Kouandjio, Guard, Alabama
The Giants still need help on their o-line and Kouandjio should be that answer. Eli Manning isn’t as good as he was so he needs all the help he can, and starting at guard will be an possible answer to their problem.
17.Houston Texans: Brett Hundley, Quarterback, UCLA
Houston has a problem, and it has to be answered in this draft. The problem is at quarterback. I do not believe Hundley is as good as people think but the Texans will like his intangibles and will believe that head coach Bill O’Brien can fix his eye problems and such.
18.San Diego Chargers: Sammie Coates, Wide Receiver, Auburn
Keenan Allen is their main guy but besides him, they do not have another reliable receiver that can take pressure off of Allen. Coates has not been fully healthy this season but when he is, he can be a force to be reckoned with. A one-two punch like that could be deadly for Rivers and co.
19.Chicago Bears: Trae Wayans, Cornerback, Michigan State
Chicago needs all the help they can get in the secondary. With Charles Tilllman possibly playing his last game in the NFL they will need another corner to go along with rookie stud Kyle Fuller. Wayans is has great hips and ball skills to go along with length. Not as athletic as some might think, Wayans will still beat you with his sound technique.
20.Cleveland Browns (Via Buffalo): Shawn Oakman, Defensive Line, Baylor
Oakman was not very good last year, now with another year under his belt, he seems to start putting things in place. Last year he would just run into a tackle and then seemingly dance with them. Now he has a handful of moves he can do to beat a lineman. If he continues to progress, the sky is the limit for this monster of a man.
21.Detroit Lions: La’El Collins, Offensive Tackle, LSU
Placed lower than my ranking for him, Collins is pretty much the definition of a mauler. Big frame, punch, hands, everything you can ask for. The one problem with Collins that some have with him is his feet and agility to play at tackle which is why there is talk about him being a better fit at guard.
22.New England Patriots: Kevin White, Wide Receiver, West Virginia
Tom Brady is not getting any younger or better and he lacks a true number 2 guy that could possibly develop into a number one for himself and Jimmy Garropolo in the future. White has great ball skills to go with his separation and speed for his size.
23.Pittsburgh Steelers: Cedric Obguehi, Offensive Tackle, TAMU
The Steelers need to round out their line to protect Big Ben. Obguehi is a good pass blocker but needs more strength to be ‘that’ type of player he can be. He is arguably the most athletic tackle in the whole draft but the strength overall and technique in run blocking are holding him back.
24.Denver Broncos: Owamagbe Odighizuwa, EDGE, UCLA
Odighizuwa is finally healthy and is tearing up the scene. He is athletically gifted with long arms and would be a prime candidate to take over as Demarcus Ware’s understudy.
25.Dallas Cowboys: Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Cornerback, Oregon
Ekpre-Olomu is a good player and should be a fairly good one in the NFL but he lacks down field coverage against bigger guys and does not have the explosion to cover routes that have comebacks or quick movements. His ball skills and tackling are his main strengths but if he can fix the small things that keep him from being great this could be a great pick for Dallas.
26.Atlanta Falcons: Shane Ray, EDGE, Missouri
Ray is a quick and explosive player off the line. He has great hand usage to go along with his athleticism so he is a mismatch for most tackles. His quick jump flashes the most when going against the running game. Atlanta desperately needs a EDGE presence like Ray.
27.Baltimore Ravens: Todd Gurley, Running Back, UGA
A Top 15 talent that fell due to teams before already having a running back or having a bigger need. Gurley looks like a man amongst boys at times and it is just not fair. The only knock I see on him is that he has rather slow feet when cutting back unlike Melvin Gordon who can cut on the dime. Gurley has the vision, power, catching ability, leg drive, and explosiveness to hit holes.
28.Carolina Panthers: AJ Cann, Guard, South Carolina
You need all the protection you can get for Cam Newton. He is your franchise and he needs to stay healthy for obvious reasons. The two glaring needs for Carolina is pretty much anywhere on the OLine and wide receiver.
29.Seattle Seahawks: Arik Armstead, Defensive Line, Oregon
Seattle has an aging Tony McDaniel at DT and will need a replacement soon. Armstead has all the potential in the world, he is more productive against the pass then run right now mostly due to strength but that could be fixed with the development Seattle could do with him
30.Philadelphia Eagles: Shaq Thompson, Linebacker, Washington
One work to describe Thompson? Speed. The Eagles off-ball linebackers are average and don’t cover very well. Thompson has a eye for the ball 24/7 and ha the lateral speed to cover tight ends, running backs, and maybe even slot receivers.
31.Cincinnati Bengals: Derron Smith, Safety, Fresno State
The one position that is a weak spot in the Bengals defense has been like that for a while. Smith is a rangy playmaker that does not have the best speed and hips but it won't cost you games with deep balls going over his head.
32.Arizona Cardinals: Erik Kendricks, Linebacker, UCLA
Kendricks is a free flowing linebackers than thrives in coverage. He doesn’t get beat by running backs or tight ends and is not afraid to lower his shoulder against the run. Arizona would get a good linebacker here if they can get their hands on him.
