The Atlanta Falcons were left with no other choice on Friday after ruling out kicker Matt Bryant for the third-straight game with a quadriceps injury. Bryant, who suffered the injury in late November, had been ruled out and kept on the roster the previous two weeks, while recently signed Shayne Graham started in his place.
With the importance of every 53-man roster spot, Atlanta had to make a move now to open up a roster spot and not have to carry two kickers, one inactive, on their roster. Bryant signed a contract extension before the season that runs through the 2017 season.
Graham is coming off a strong fantasy game where he converted all four field goal attempts and an etra point, finishing with 16 fantasy points in ESPN standard scoring. This week against a stout Carolina Panthers defense he should be avoided but on an offense that has had success moving the ball down the field but struggling in the red zone, Graham makes for a nice fantasy kicker.
