This week we've got four big time points earners that are being wildly and grossly overlooked, for whatever reason. Get ahead of the curve and show your league mates up with these four strong additions, who are currently all owned in less than 20 percent of leagues.
*Note: All ownership numbers are an average of ESPN, Yahoo! and NFL.com fantasy football statistics, and are current as of 11 PM EST on Monday night.
Jace Amaro - Tight End, New York Jets (2.4 percent owned)
If you’re in need of tight end help at this point in the season, the waiver wire can be quite a mixed bag, and you never really know what you’re going to get. As far as we can surmise, Amaro looks to be the best bet of widely available tight ends. He’s caught 32 of 39 targets on the season, and proven to be consistent - when his quarterbacks can be competent, that is. Amaro has finished the week as a TE2 four times (including as the top tight end in Week 6 against Denver with 23 points) and just outside of TE2 range (26th in Week 7 against New England) once. That’s five out of eight weeks worth relatively decent production, which is more than you can say for the rest of the likely group. Grab Amaro now, before he has another breakout game and everyone finally catches on.
Allen Robinson - Wide Receiver, Jacksonville Jaguars (3.8%)
How are people STILL sleeping on Robinson? He's already established himself as the 26th best fantasy receiver through Week 8, as well as the team's top fantasy scorer - and now he's cementing his role as Blake Bortles' favorite target, in an offense that airs it out often as they play from behind. Robinson has at least seven targets in all five of Bortles' starts this year, and has increased his fantasy output from 14.8, to 16, to 19.2 (respectively) in the last-three weeks as the comfort level between the two rookies grows. Robinson is only going to become more of a threat as he and Bortles continue to work together and the Jaguars find more of a balance with the run. Robinson is criminally under owned, get him this week and look like a genius.
Brandon LaFell - Wide Receiver, New England Patriots (8.8%)
LaFell has quietly worked his way to the cusp of WR2 territory, while being owned in less than 10 percent of leagues. With at least four receptions and 8 fantasy points in five weeks, he's' a legitimate threat. The every-other-week spike in points is a bit worrisome and definitely makes LaFell a bit of a gamble, but if you play the matchups and hit on an up week, you're in for a top-10 day. Not bad for a waiver addition halfway through the season.
Denard Robinson - Running Back, Jacksonville Jaguars (16.4%)
It makes me a bit sad that more people didn't listen to me last week, but I can see where the trepidation comes from. Robinson is the real deal from a talent perspective, and it seems that the Jaguars have finally figured out how to properly utilize him. Now after two straight Dominant performances, you should be ready to buy-in. With just two actual starts this season, coming in the last two weeks, Robinson has managed to move up to the third-best fantasy player in Jackskonville with 55.6 points. There's almost no team out there that couldn't use help at the running back position, so why not grab a dynamic high-end RB2 just sitting there waiting to be used? You can thank me later.
