Best Fantasy Football Waiver-Wire Pickups for Week 9

Marvin Jones - Wide Receiver, Cincinnati Bengals (Owned in 1.0 percent of leagues)

Jones had a huge, record-setting day for Cincinnati on Sunday, catching 8 passes for 122 yards and four touchdowns, a franchise record for a single game.  He finished the day with 36.20 fantasy points, just 0.7 points behind Calvin Johnson for first place.  Jones is the uncontested No. 2 receiver on the roster and will continue to put up big numbers with defenders locking A.J. Green down.  If you need help at receiver, this is a no brainer.

Andre Ellington - Running Back, Arizona Cardinals (21.1 percent)

Ellington has taken over as the top dog in the Cardinals backfield and has performed extremely well.  On Sunday he rushed for 154 yards and a touchdown on just 15 carries and finished ranked as the top fantasy ‘back with 22.20 points.  The running back situation in the league this year is obviously a mess, so get a claim in now on Ellington if you need help, because I guarantee he won’t be there next week.

Percy Harvin - Wide Receiver Seattle Seahawks (38.6 percent)

Harvin was activated this past week and returned to practice.  He’s catching up quickly and Russell Wilson has already expressed his pleasure with work with Harvin and how dynamic the offense will be with his return.  There’s a very real chance Harvin is ready to go for Week 9, if not Week 10 for sure - so if you need wide receiver help, now would be a good time to sneak in and grab him, before it’s too late.

Andy Dalton - Quarterback, Cincinnati Bengals (43.5 percent)

Dalton seems to have gotten over his woes from earlier this season and has been on a roll lately.  In the last three games, Dalton has thrown 11 touchdowns to just two interceptions, including a  325 yard, five touchdown performance this weekend - which was good enough to finish as the second-best quarterback with 31 fantasy points.  With all of the byes in Week 9, as well as the injuries, Dalton is a great pickup not only for the week, but for the rest of the season.  Expect that 43.5 percent to skyrocket back near 100 after this weekend.

Value Adds

Here’s a quick reminder of some guys I’ve written about recently that are still widely available, for whatever reason.  They’re all going to be in the top-20 for their position for the rest of the season and could really help bolster your roster.

Andre Brown - Running Back, New York Giants (18.2 percent)
Zac Stacy - Running Back, St. Louis Rams (21.3 percent)
Terrelle Pryor - Quarterback, Oakland Raiders (25.3 percent)
Charles Clay - Tight End, Miami Dolphins (51.1 percent)
Terrance Williams - Wide Receiver, Dallas Cowboys (58 percent)
Jordan Reed - Tight End, Washington Redskins (62 percent)
