If you're still playing fantasy football in Week 15, then you've either started your playoffs, or you're about to enter them. Here are some fantasy football players who have exceptional matchups in Week 15 where they will have the opportunity to reward better-than-average fantasy points due to their favorable opponent. Good luck as playoffs get started.
Jay Cutler, Quarterback, Chicago Bears
Cutler and the Bears host the New Orleans Saints in Week 15. Over the last four weeks, the Saints have surrendered the most fantasy points, at nearly 25 per game to opposing quarterbacks. Cam Newton completely destroyed the Saints last week, now it is Cutler’s turn. The Saints have also allowed nine passing touchdowns and over this time and an average of 281 passing yards per game to their opposition. With Cutler averaging two passing touchdowns per game over his last four, an inviting matchup against an extremely poor Saints’ passing attack should set Cutler up for a prime outing in Week 15 rewarding his fantasy owners generously.
Ben Roethlisberger, Quarterback, Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 15 has Roethlisberger and the Steelers traveling to Atlanta to face the NFL team who has allowed the most passing yards all season. Yes, the Falcons are the worst at stopping the pass and we all know Big Ben can have his hot moments where he really piles on the passing yards. In fact, Roethlisberger has racked up 785 passing yards in his just his last two games, so he should have no problem whatsoever charging up major fantasy points against an overly generous Falcons’ defense and helping your team clinch a playoff spot for Week 16.
Philip Rivers, Quarterback, San Diego Chargers
Forget Rivers’ lousy fantasy performance from last week and relish in the fact that Rivers has a home game against the Denver Broncos in Week 15. Rivers has an excellent history of playing against Denver as he has had 12 touchdown passes against them in his last six games. This is a rivalry matchup for the Chargers and they need a win this week to inch closer to securing a spot in the playoffs. Rivers should be back to rewarding top fantasy points against a Broncos’ defense who has allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to the position so far this season.
Odell Beckham Jr., Wide Receiver, New York Giants
Continue to trust Beckham to take you farther into fantasy playoffs in Week 15. Beckham has the third most fantasy points among wide receivers in his last four weeks of play and faces the Washington Redskins in Week 15, who aren’t stopping anyone these days. With Beckham seeing the lions’ share of targets in the Giants’ offense, he certainly is poised to take advantage of a team who, over the last four games has allowed opposing wide receivers the second-most fantasy points per game. Look for another show-stopping performance out of Beckham has he rewards fantasy owners sweetly in Week 15.
T.Y. Hilton, Quarterback, Indianapolis Colts
Hilton has a way of just exploding when facing the Houston Texans which is who the Colts host in Week 15. Last time Hilton faced the Texans, he robbed them for 223 yards and a touchdown. With Reggie Wayne potentially out or limited, Hilton will continue to draw many looks from Andrew Luck and take on a major workload this week. Over the course of the season, the Texans’ have allowed the second-most receiving yards and touchdowns to opposing wideouts setting up Hilton to have a fantastic game to help advance his owners further into playoffs.
Le’Veon Bell, Running Back, Pittsburgh Steelers
It’s a no-brainer that you start Bell in your fantasy lineup each week. He’s just been an absolute monster on the field in his last three games and this won’t stop in Week 15 against the Atlanta Falcons. Bell faces the team who has generously given up the absolute most fantasy points to running backs so far this season. Week 15 playoffs is definitely not the week you want to play against the team who owns Bell, because he is going to go wild once again. Owners enjoy and opponents beware.
Matt Forte, Running Back, Chicago Bears
Forte has not only been an asset in the Bears’ rushing game, but in their receiving game as well. With Brandon Marshall out for the year, Forte should get even more looks in the pass-catching department adding to his total yardage in his Week 15 matchup against the New Orleans Saints. Over the course of the season, the Saints have allowed the most receiving yards to running backs, and the sixth-most rushing yards. And, over the last four weeks, they’ve been downright awful in limiting running backs, allowing an average of 29.7 fantasy points per week to them. Trust Forte in Week 15 to help get you further into your fantasy playoffs.
Justin Forsett, Running Back, Baltimore Ravens
Forsett and the Ravens play the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 15. This matchup has huge fantasy points written all over it. Just last week, the Jags gave up a total of 163 yards and two touchdowns to the Texans’ running backs; primarily, Arian Foster. Forsett, who managed 5.5 yards per carry last week against a much stiffer Dolphins defense should have a major outing against the Jaguars’ rush defense who have allowed the third-most rushing yards and touchdowns to date this season. Forsett is that waiver wire gem who has worked himself up to the eighth-ranked running back and surely sits in many playoff team rosters.
