Brandin Cooks Clears Concussion Protocol, Practices on Friday

On Thursday, fantasy owners with Brandin Cooks went into a frenzy when he was put on the injury report with a concussion after suffering a concussion during practice. An injury this late in the week would almost guarantee he wouldn't play in Week 14. But on Friday, it was revealed Cooks cleared the concussion protocol and returned to the practice field.

The NFL's concussion protocol is an extensive process so for Cooks to make it through this quickly, leads you to believe that the Saints were being safe by labeling it a concussion and just pulled him from practice and put him through the protocol as a precaution.

Now that Cooks has practiced and is probable to play on Sunday, fantasy owners and DFS players can look forward to an excellent matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay has allowed over 2,000 receiving yards and given up 16 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers this season.

Given how bad the Saints' defense has been this season, especially on the road, New Orleans must turn this into a shootout if they want any chance at winning this game. It's great news for Cooks and he is a high-upside WR2 this week, something all fantasy owners want in the fantasy playoffs.
