Brock Osweiler to Start Next Week Against the Oakland Raiders

At this point in the season, it makes too much sense for the Denver Broncos to continue riding Brock Osweiler under center rather than going back to an injured quarterback in Peyton Manning that was among the worst players at his position in the NFL prior to said foot injury.

At the very least, we do know that Osweiler will get the nod against the Oakland Raiders next week.

With wins in his first three NFL starts, Osweiler has the Broncos currently thinking first-round bye and potential home-field advantage throughout the AFC Playoffs.

In those three games, the former second-round pick has tallied 686 passing yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. Those might not seem like overwhelming numbers, but his ability to avoid the turnover buy while relying on one of the league's best defenses is the primary reason Denver sits at 10-2 heading into Week 14.

Unfortunately for those of you who want to see Manning back under center, his turnover-prone tendencies earlier in the year was the biggest weak link for an otherwise championship-caliber team.

The biggest question remaining here is whether John Elway will step in and force Gary Kubiak into going back to Manning once the future Hall of Famer is healthy. That would be a major mistake for a team that could very well contend for a conference title with Osweiler under center.

From a fantasy perspective, there isn't a whole bunch to see here. Despite his good play, Osweiler hasn't been relevant in standard 12-team leagues. Taking on a bad Oakland Raiders secondary, Osweiler may actually be a decent DFS play this week. Outside of that, Denver's decision to stick with him has no real fantasy impact, at least in terms of the quarterback position.
