Chicago Bears to Sit Kevin White for Remainder of the Season

The Chicago Bears selected wide receiver Kevin White in the top 10 of this year's draft to play an important role opposite Alshon Jeffery in the passing game.

Missing the first 13 games of his rookie campaign with a leg injury, White will remain on the physically unable to perform list — ending his first NFL season without playing as much as a snap.

Why Chicago didn't place White on injured reserve earlier in the season is anyone's guess. The good news here is that the brass knows that it's not worth risking further injury by having White suit up for what amounts to three meaningless games to end the season.

White will now get a full offseason of participation in when it comes to the team's programs. From organized team activities to minicamps and the full-on summer training camp, White should be a full participant. Despite a lost rookie season, that has to be music to the Bears ears.
