Stream Against the Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville ranks in the bottom three of the NFL against fantasy quarterbacks, running backs and tight ends. It's also in the bottom 11 of the league against fantasy receivers. That makes it a relatively easy decision to stream some solid San Diego Chargers options against Jacksonville. Instead of focusing on the obvious (Philip Rivers, Keenan Allen and Antonio Gates) let's take a look at the less obvious.
Donald Brown ($6,300): Brown is now forced into a starting job with both Ryan Mathews (out for a month or so) and Danny Woodhead (out for the season) not in the lineup. He responded by putting up 30-plus attempts against the Buffalo Bills last week. Now going up against a Jaguars defense that has allowed an average of 175.3 total yards and over 33 points per game to opposing running backs this season, there is no reason to think twice about relying on Brown this week.
Malcom Floyd ($4,700): Needless to say, Floyd could have himself a solid outing in this one. He put up 98 receiving yards against the Bills last week and will now be taking on a secondary that has yielded 191 yards per game to wide receivers this season. With Jacksonville likely turning its attention to Keenan Allen in this one, Floyd should be able to find himself open a lot in this one.
49ers Wide Receivers are at Play this Week
Following a surprising offensive game plan against the Arizona Cardinals last week, the fantasy football world is questioning whether San Francisco is going to continue its five-wide sets against a bad Philadelphia Eagles pass defense in Week 4. While the return of Vernon Davis from injury may mute this, there is reason to believe Greg Roman and Co. will continue to go against the grain and play their receivers in spread sets more. Considering that Michael Crabtree, Anquan Boldin and Steve Johnson caught a combined 25-of-26 passes from Colin Kaepernick last week, the intrigue is going to be real here. It's our recommendation that you make the decision to look at both Crabtree and Boldin as solid WR1 options. Here's why:
Michael Crabtree ($7,000): Crabtree has caught 17 of the 20 passes thrown in his direction over the past two weeks. His dominationg from a PPR standpoint could come up huge in Fanduel leagues this week, especially considering that the veteran will be lining up against a cornerback in Cary Williams that has been among the worst in the entire NFL this season.
Anquan Boldin ($6,100): If you're looking for a mid-level WR3 option with tremendous upside, Boldin may very well be your guy. In addition to going up against Bradley Fletcher, who has allowed an average of 60-plus receiving yards this season, the Eagles rank dead least against fantasy receivers.
Avoid the Patriots
Tom Brady ($7,900): Brady is going up against a Kansas City Chiefs team that might rank in the bottom half of the NFL against fantasy quarterbacks, but he has struggle himself performing up to level in terms of fake football since the start of the 2013 season. Thus far this year, Brady ranks 28th among quarterbacks in fantasy points. Despite this he's valued over the likes of Ben Roethlisberger and Tony Romo this week.
Rob Gronkowski ($7,600): Gronkowski is valued at $1,400 more than any other tight end not named Jimmy Graham. Seriously, if you're going to spend this money on the tight end position, why not nab Graham against a Cowboys defense that ranks 31st in the NFL against opposing tight ends since the start of the 2012 campaign. If not, look for more value here.
