Tom Brady and the New England Patriots seems to lose an offensive weapon every week. First it was Dion Lewis, then Julian Edelman and now Danny Amendola. Fortunately for New England, they will likely only miss Amendola for this week's game against the Denver Broncos.
Amendola suffered a knee injury late last week against the Buffalo Bills and was only able to practice on a limited bases Thursday and Friday. New England worked him out on Sunday before the flight to Denver and ultimately decided to hold Amendola out, letting him stay in New England to heal and get more work done on his sprained knee.
Amendola stepped in very nicely last week into Edelman's role as the possession receiver in this offense. He left after hauling in nine receptions for 117 yards and could have had a 10/180/1 line if the refs didn't accidentally blow the whistle, taking away a big play.
New England will be challenged on offense this week against a stout Broncos' secondary and with inexperience on the outside other than Brandon LaFell. This will be a game where LeGarrette Blount and Rob Gronkowski should dominate the attention.
