The Detroit Lions have reportedly locked up one of their surprising defenders. According to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, Detroit has signed linebacker DeAndre Levy to a four-year extension.
Levy, 28, is coming off a 2014 campaign that saw him tally 155 tackles (121 solo), 2.5 sacks, one interception and five passes defended. The former third-round pick from Wisconsin has put up 100-plus tackles in three of the past four seasons. This past season saw him earn Second-Team All-Pro honors while finishing as one of the top 4-3 outside linebackers in the business.
Fantasy Spin
Levy is currently listed as the sixth-best IDP linebacker heading into the 2015 season. Considering his ability to put up a whole bunch of tackles and rack up that uncommon sack, there's no reason to believe his status as one of the top fantasy players at this position will take a hit any time soon.
