The Dallas Cowboys were eliminated from playoff contention after last week's loss to the New York Jets. With their playoff hopes ended, Dallas placed quarterback Tony Romo on injured reserve and have now ruled out wide receiver Dez Bryant for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.
Bryant sat out all week with foot and ankle soreness, which could be connected to the surgery he had in September on his fifth metatarsal. These type of injuries have had a documented past of reoccuring problems, so it shouldn't come as a major surprise that Bryant might be having soreness.
It's a smart move for Dallas to hold out their star receiver and give him time to rest to make sure he is healthy. The Cowboys 2015 season was crippled by injuries, but they can be a contender again if everyone is healthy in 2016. In a game where Dallas has nothing to play for, there is no need to risk further damage to Bryant's foot.
With Bryant out of action, Terrance Williams should see expanded usage in the passing game. Kellen Moore will be making his first NFL start after making his NFL debut last week. Jason Witten and Darren McFadden are the only Cowboys' starters worth starting in fantasy the rest of the season.
