Avoid Matthew Stafford
At 16.4 percent of your cap and the fifth-most expensive fantasy quarterback this week, Stafford shouldn't even be in the conversation as a DraftKing daily play. He's going up against a defense that ranks just outside of the top-10 against fantasy quarterbacks and could potentially be without star receiver Calvin Johnson. Even if Megatron is able to go, he's not going to be anything more than a decoy for the Lions.
While Golden Tate will be in play as a PPR stud, there is no reason to believe that Stafford will put up anywhere near top-10 quarterback numbers this week. It should be a rather simple conclusion for you here.
Look into Logan Thomas Could be a Deep Sleeper
It sure looks like this rookie sixth-round pick will get his first NFL start against the Washington Redskins on Sunday. And while it doesn't make a ton of sense to rely on him to put up elite numbers, it's important to remember that Washington ranks dead last against fantasy quarterbacks on the season. At just 10.8 percent of your cap, you can afford to take the top-15 upside from Thomas and look for elite options elsewhere. But if you do make this decision, you better hit on the higher-priced players at other positions. That much is clear.
Darren McFadden Remains Oakland's Only Viable Daily Play
Going up against a San Diego Chargers defense that ranks in the middle of the pack against fantasy running backs, an under-valued McFadden could provide solid top-15 upside at just 6.8 percent of your cap. If you make the decision to go with a top-tier RB1 option, this Raiders running back (who should get 20-plus touches) will be a nice RB2 play.
Matt Forte is in Play
Even as the most-expensive running back in DraftKings leagues, Forte is almost a near certain play for those of you looking at adding an elite running back to the mix. He's going up against an average of 35.5 fantasy points to players at this position. As it relates to Forte's value, his PPR ability (36 receptions in five games) makes him a ridiculous option. If you are looking at adding that ONE stud to your lineup, Forte has to be that guy in Week 6. It's that simple.
Just Say "No" to San Diego Chargers Tight Ends
On paper, this looks like a matchup made in heaven for Antonio Gates. Unfortunately, that's just on the surface. Looking further into it, Gates just isn't a valuable fantasy play this week. At 12.2 percent of your cap, he's the second-most expensive fantasy tight end. Going up against an Oakland Raiders defense that is yielding an average of just 49 yards per game to opposing tight ends, Gates simply doesn't make much sense here. Instead, go with a cheaper option that provides a better matchup. Heath Miller against a 26th-ranked Cleveland Browns defense is an example of this.
Check in on Rueben Randle Against the Giants
This may be more for the sake of investigating before actually buying, but you are going to want to keep an eye on Randle this week against a less-than-stellar Eagles defense that is yielding the second-most fantasy points to opposing receivers. Randle has put up 10 targets in each of the last three games and is potentially a better fantasy option than Victor Cruz moving forward. If you don't want to buy him at 9.2 percent of your cap this week, just make sure to pay attention to how he performs. With that said, I'd highly recommend him as a high-upside WR2.
