How often were running backs used by their teams last year? The following chart shows exactly that. The numbers may surprise you, as the leaders were not LeSean McCoy, Jamaal Charles or Adrian Peterson.

This chart shows the attempt rate, yards rate, and touchdown rate of each returning running back for this season that had a significant amount of carries last season. It also shows the attempt rate, yards rate, and touchdown rate above average (AA) for your inconvenience.
